About Jaisalmer

Jaiselmer is a Western cost district in Rajsthan state of India. It is located in southern part of thar desert. The city is also called the Golden City beacause of Yellow sandstone is used as a building material in Jaisalmer. Jaisalmer is at the edge of west cost connecting with Pakistan. This makes it most important that any other thing. Military bases and airport have been build here.

Jaisalmer was named on a Yaduvanshi king Rao Jaisal. He ruled and made fortes in this city out of desert. The city is a tourist attraction having fortes, Camel safari tour, Thar festival etc. some major tourist attraction are Jaisalmer fort, Camel Safari, Gadisagar Lake, Sam Sand Dunes, Salim Sing ki Haveli, Jain Temples, Thar Heritage Museum, Patwaon Ki Haveli, Kuldhara Village, Thar Desert festival etc.

Tourist come here for visit when it has a suitable weather, because most of the time its too hot.

Camel safari are a main delight for tourist since they are scarce in other part of the world. Night time star canopy is also a exotic experience since the sky here is so clean.
